Collision Reporting Centre Ottawa

Do you know what to do if you’ve been involved in a collision? Many of us don’t. But it’s important to know who to call and what steps to take if the situation ever does occur. In the event that someone is injured, call 911 immediately and wait for further instructions. If there are no injuries, you’ll be required to fill out an accident report with the police. Follow the instructions below to learn how to go about this process efficiently and lawfully:

Step One: Call the Police Collision Reporting Centre

Any accident without injuries must be reported first by calling the Ottawa Collision Reporting Centre Assistance & Towing at (613) 319-0669. During the call, you’ll receive information and assistance to  the nearest collision centre to the location of your accident.

There are three Ottawa Police Collision Reporting Centres in the city:

  • 211 Huntmar Drive in Kanata
  • 474 Elgin Street in the downtown core
  • 3343 St. Joseph Boulevard in Orleans

Step Two: Call an Ottawa Towing Company

If you can’t drive your vehicle safely to a collision reporting centre, you’ll need to contact and make arrangements with a towing company. Alliance Towing is available 24 hours, 7 days a week, year-round to help get your vehicle to the nearest collision centre. Simply contact us at (613) 400-0005 and one of our towing professionals will come to the location of the accident and transport you and your vehicle to the collision centre safely.

Step Three: Obtain the Following Information

Before you leave the scene of the collision, make sure to obtain the following information from the other driver involved:

  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Driver’s license number, class and name on the license
  • Vehicle ownership details including the license plate number, model and year of the vehicle and owner’s name
  • Insurance policy number and name of the insured

Step Four: Report to the Police Collision Reporting Centre

Once you arrive at the police station, a police officer will assess the damage. You’ll need to fill out a Collision Report, Statement R7C form, so it’s important to have the report number provided during the initial phone call, as well as proof of your insurance, driver’s license, and details regarding the vehicle that was involved in the collision and the ownership of that vehicle.

Step Five: Towing Your Vehicle to the Body Shop

If the centre is busy when you arrive, we will drop off your vehicle and then come back and pick it up once it’s ready to be delivered to the body shop. This way you don’t have to pay for ‘wait times’, saving you time and money.

Why Choose Alliance Towing?

At Alliance Towing our goal is to provide fast, efficient and friendly service that is affordable. We’re also available whenever you need us – 24/7, 365 days a year. If you’ve been involved in a collision, call us and we’ll help you safely navigate through the entire process.
